One of my most frequent criticisms of most of the currently sitting GFA board of directors is their complete lack of any publicly declared plan for the future of our Flow. Instead of having a Planning Committee which would guide and protect the future of our Flow, most of the currently sitting board instead chooses to lurch from crisis to crisis, with no clear intent in mind beyond futilely trying to impose their personal views onto others. A Planning Committee is desperately needed, especially given the disturbing information I have been provided with regarding exactly what we are going to do with the acreage we were contractually bound to purchase without even being allowed to see the contracts under which these purchases were made. (More on this debacle in a future post).
My health, personal, and professional situations have recently undergone drastic realignments, which only I knew were likely coming. Many were stunned when dan deutsch (aka: "DanRC" and other aka's on FB), the partner of the owner of a lot on our Flow, (IMHO) underhandedly stole the FB page I had built from zero to several hundred followers just so dan could pursue their own selfish interests. I was not.
In my earliest posts regarding my motivations for forcing the GFA board to be accountable and actually serve all the Members, I clearly stated that my intentions had nothing to do with me, but instead were and remain to make life better for everyone on our Flow -- not just an anointed few, divisively approved of by a certain juvenile and cliquey cohort. To do that, I had to motivate more than just myself to both become aware of and resist the underhanded antics of most of the currently sitting board. I have done exactly that.
While my forced physical absence from our Flow is inconvenient, it is both calculated and only temporary. But the gradual replacing on our Flow of Member apathy with Member activism which I have catalyzed clearly remains, and awaits my inevitable return. Owners, Members, and Member partners well beyond just dan have been inspired to coalesce, question, and hold the GFA board accountable -- precisely as I had intended.
The GFA "election/appointment" system is 100% rigged, it pains me to say, Folks. I caution everyone to be very careful regarding Jeff Johnson's replacement.
