The Presumption Problem

I know that some people think I am insanely overly full of myself, that I think I have all the answers, that I believe I make no mistakes. But, for anyone who honestly followed my tenure as the admin for the "official" GFA FB page, you were able to see that not only did I mess up, I actually asked to be corrected. Repeatedly. And when I did mess up, as we all do, I both apologized for my error and thanked the individual(s) who corrected me. I am NOT perfect, I will never be perfect, I just try my level best to be FAIR.

I messed up again. For a few years now, I have been presuming that a primary reason why the currently sitting GFA board has been so steadfastly obstructive regarding my efforts to just build a very basic website for the GFA for free, or offer even live-streaming of the meetings for free, is because they are mostly old, white males, who had succumbed to old, white male thinking. And I presumed that because they were this way, that they were understandably terrified of new technology and the communication benefits which INFORMATION Technology offers. Boy, was I ever WRONG....... It turns out the that the currently sitting GFA board president, Mr. Fibiger, apparently is actually a retired INFORMATION Technology executive, who, from what I have recently been privately told and have been able to tentatively independently verify (as always, I stand VERY ready to print a large font retraction if I am mistaken), has been programming computers since at least the 1970's. So, why would a retired INFORMATION Technology executive be the primary obstructing force in my efforts to introduce INFORMATION Technology to the GFA? Why would a person who seems to have dedicated their entire professional life to INFORMATION Technology be so unwilling to just put his highly valuable and surely top-notch decades of experience to work for the GFA Membership-at-large by implementing readily available INFORMATION Technology solutions? What INFORMATION does the currently sitting GFA board feel is sooooo important that it must be so zealously guarded and controlled? Maybe we will all find out at Saturday's meeting.

We really CAN do MUCH better.

Thank you very much for your DEEPLY appreciated support!! :-)
