Very sadly, we Humans are well past the point of no return. We are so close to the end that monstrous “people” are buying Hawaii to build mega-bunkers, cuz they think that will somehow protect them and theirs from the coming calamity. Nah. Here’s why it won’t:

I have lived this scenario in miniature form multiple times. Not the end of worlds, obviously, but the ends of neighborhoods and villages and towns because of armed conflict and things like ebola. When whatever global cataclysm finally does happen (Look, I know it’s scary to think about, but being caught fully unprepared for it is FAR scarier. We all know it’s coming, just not when, so ignoring the inevitable is, IMHO, just dumb.), and those billionaires go scurrying like the muskrats they are down into the dirt to cower in their underground bunkers with all that food and water and heat and artificial light and defense systems and communications systems and air systems and enough completely false sense of security to last for decades — My experience demonstrates that 100% of the time, T͟H͟I͟S͟ Is what will 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 happen:

About 20 minutes or so after the doors are locked (you wait this time to make sure your team has control of all the operating systems and that the key personnel are secured), the owner very unceremoniously gets their demented head blown off by a “crazy”, battle-tested warrior like me. No trial. No hesitation. And no more monster. Finally, an actual leader leads.

No, I've not seen this happen to any billionaire, but I have to lots of the very localized equivalents of one. The very few still surviving scarred & battered ones who have fought and bled and had to watch hundreds be blown apart by missiles and have wept gallons as babies died in our arms because of some lunatic’s wet dream and aren’t politicians and won’t gaslight anyone, will repeat this exact same scenario in every bunker. Real leaders will once again lead. And that obscene trillion dollars in 20’s will make ok toilet paper for us. (Soak it in water first and let it dry before using— makes a MUCH more comfortable experience, I promise.)

Newcomb is physically isolated, potentially self-sufficient, and not militarily nor economically strategic. Ergo, the finish will arrive later for us, dependent on a boatload of variables. I once again 100% sincerely pledge to protect and preserve as many of our neighbours for as long as I can, regardless of how grossly they have behaved in the past.
